As we come into 2022, we’re ready to shake off the dust and welcome the new year with optimism and joy. What better way to start fresh than with a refresh for our homes. We’ve been scouring design blogs and Pinterest, gathering inspiration for our redesigns and we’ve found some of the biggest trends forecasted to dominate our homes in the process.
This year is going to be all about creating warm, inviting spaces and returning to classic architectural details.
Return to the Classics
We’re slipping further back in time. The mid-century modern influences that have dominated interior decor trends for the last few years are, once again, a thing of the past. This year, we’re finding inspiration in the glamour of Art Deco. Achieve this classic look by adding texture and elegance to your walls with panel moulding, indulging in furniture with sumptuous fabrics, and choosing sunbursts and geometric patterns accented in gold.
We’re in love with this rich velvet sofa from CB2.
Curves Ahead
The clean-lined, scandi sofas we’ve been bingeing Netflix from for the last few years have finally met their match. Trending for 2022 are curvy couches and organic shapes. Want to try out the trend? We’ve found some bodacious beauties to help kick off your search.

Au Naturel
In 2022, designers are bringing the outdoors in by choosing natural materials. We’ll see more warm wood kitchens, natural stone accents, and shearling armchairs. We’re loving the warmth and texture these finishes provide. Combine them with big windows and some greenery for a truly enviable space.
Natural Hues + Bright Pops
While Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams and Behr all seem to be in agreement that soft sage is the colour of the year, we’re feeling more inspired by these selections from Pantone, Farrow and Ball, and Dunn Edwards. After years of cold grey spaces, we’re ready for warm neutrals and bright accents. Our own Vanessa Copeland says she expects to see lots of “happy walls” this year. Think daring colour choices and bold accent walls.
