fatSO Eats: Tabule

fatSO Eats: Tabule

fatSO eats ventured to the East side to try the 2nd Tabule of Toronto! Inside you’re quickly welcomed with lovely service and beautiful decor! The patio was full when we arrived, but with the front windows opened, it brought in beautiful light and the evening breeze!

For a regular Tuesday evening we were surprised with how busy it picked up, and were thankful we booked in advance! The waits for tables didn’t come as a surprise by the end of our meal, because Tabule is worth it!

For starters we tried the Arnabeet; a flash fried cauliflower finished with a touch of tahini and Ma’anek (sweet spiced lamb sausages)

While we can imagine the challenges of presenting a food like Ma’anek, its soft Lamb flavour and texture certainly makes up for it!

The Arnabeet was perfectly cooked that offered a light crunch texture with the addictive flavours of tahini that complimented the dish. They give you plenty to go round, and we even spared a few bits to have with our mains!

For mains you have the option for grilled seafood, vegetarian and meat dishes!

We tried the Grilled Shrimp (charcoal-broiled shrimp marinated in Middle Eastern spices) and the Kefta Banadura (two juicy skewers of ground mixed lamb and beef in a tomato garlic sauce).

Even though the Grilled Shrimp doesn’t come with sauce, you don’t feel that it’s too dry in any way. The shrimp and vegetables; peppers, onions and zucchini are super fresh and crunchy!

The Kefta Banadura was full of a rich tomato and garlic sauce that gave the moisture needed for rice, and meats like beef and lamb. This dish was full of flavour and super filling!

We would have loved to try more from their menu, but what we ordered alone was too much to handle! We’ll definitely be going back there soon!
