Top Toronto Real Estate: Condo Edition – Part 1

Top Toronto Real Estate: Condo Edition – Part 1

As a Toronto real estate agent, I spend mass amounts of time in condo buildings across the city. Condominiums come in all different shapes and sizes. Some have tons of amenities and high-class lobbies, others are as basic as can be. The nice thing about having so much variety is that there is a condo out there for everyone. Today, however, I am going to talk about the top-rated Toronto Condo buildings across the city.

Picture this…a trendy building, a concierge in a modern lobby, an elevator that takes you to a place you can call home with all the amenities and luxuries of holiday life. Sounds like a vacation right? With an on-site gym, pool, steps to restaurants, shops, and transport— you can have the convenience of hotel living, right in your very own condo. That’s right—no snow to shovel, no grass to cut, and no pesky neighbours complaining about what colour you painted your garage door.

Toronto is a world-class city with every amenity you could imagine. It boasts some of the best fine dining in the country, high-end shops, beaches to discover, sports teams to cheer for, museums to peruse, and neighbourhoods with their own unique character to explore. Condo living in the city gives you the best of so many worlds, and today we are going to talk about some of the best condo buildings in Toronto.

One Bloor (Previously One Bloor East)

This 2017 condominium building proudly took its place in the Toronto skyline at Yonge, and you guessed it, Bloor. Its unique architecture grabs your attention and draws your eyes up the 75 floors of modern luxury. Developed by Great Gulf, One Bloor is home to 789 Condos that range from modest 530 square foot units to massive 5455 square feet.

Residents have access not only to cafes, a cinema, groceries, and pharmacies, but also high-brow hangouts such as the ROM, The Gardiner Museum, and Sunlife Financial Museum + Arts. Without even leaving their units, residents can enjoy on-site security with a guard and concierge, recreational facilities like indoor and outdoor pools, yoga studio, gym, rec room, games room, sauna and additional event space like their rooftop patio and party room.

Visitors can access guest suites and ample visitor parking when dropping by One Bloor, and can enjoy city life like no other. This centralized condo makes commuting a breeze with mere steps to public transit and a quick jaunt to highway access. If you’re looking to grab a place in this great building, prepare to spend $700K for a one-bedroom unit.

18 Yorkville

Like One Bloor, this condo is situated in the perfect placement for exploring the trendy pocket of Yorkville. Yorkville, synonymous with luxury, offers residents and visitors high-end boutiques, exquisite dining, and great walkability to everything you could need. Public transit and highway access are close by and make for a great place for commuters and telecommuters alike.

Also developed by Great Gulf, this 36-story building was constructed back in 2006 and has more than 300 residential units. This condo is a building that offers good value—bigger spaces with a smaller price tag ranging from 470 to 3000+ square feet, with a one-bedroom starting around $600K. Residents have access to a rooftop deck to enjoy the picturesque views of the city, a party, meeting and media room to make use of, and a concierge to come home securely to.

88 Scott

A perfect condo located in the heart of Toronto’s downtown city centre. Built in 2018, 88 Scott is a 58-storey building featuring 523 suites. Here, there is something for everyone—from petite suites just under 300 square feet to a grand penthouse with 4500 square feet of living space.

Residents can relax in the indoor pool or sauna, hit the gym, or enjoy the party room or rooftop deck for more social activities. Bike storage and guest suites/parking are some additional amenities available. Enjoy convenient access to shops, cinema, St. Lawrence Market, and plenty of green space to explore. TTC, and King subway station, along with Gardiner Expressway access make comings and goings a simple feat, but why go anywhere when you’re surrounded by everything already?

Seventy5 Portland

This is one of my personal faves! Located at 75 Portland Street, in King West, sits this loft building surrounded by fashion, dining, and entertainment. Smaller one bedroom units can be purchased for around $550K. King west is appealing to those who want an active nightlife, enjoying some of the best restaurants in the city, bars, clubs and theatres. It’s also attractive to those who enjoy culture—with museums and galleries to explore and green space for families and pets to enjoy.

Public transit and highway access are easily accessible as are all creature comforts, from shops to schools. This building offers a cozy, boutique feeling standing at only 11 storeys, with 211 suites. Residents can enjoy dining on their outdoor patio, with the permitted use of a BBQ. A gym and party room make for social interaction, and a concierge and security keep this place safe and secure.

Theatre Park

Also located in the King West area at 224 King Street is the unique Theatre Park condo development. Its incredible architectural design (another Great Gulf project) of glass and exposed brick is art in itself. Featuring 47 storeys, and 234 loft-inspired suites with panoramic views that range from 530 to 3000+ square feet.

Residents have the luxury of a 24-hour concierge, fitness facility, event and dining spaces, and outdoor pool. With a walk score of 99/100, there is quick access to anything residents could desire—nightlife, dining, entertainment, and a quick 2 blocks to the Financial District. Enjoy an evening at Roy Thompson Hall or the Royal Alexandra Theatre, or simply balcony views of them while enjoying your piece of urban paradise. Price points here are elevated compared to the previous buildings, and one-bedroom units are not surprisingly $1M+ for a 600 square foot suite.
