5 Things You Need to do This Fall!

5 Things You Need to do This Fall!

Hello fall!! I don’t know about all of you but I’m still not quite ready for the cold, although I have been having enjoying many Pumpkin Spice Latte’s (more than I’d like to admit). Let’s be real, fall has everything, the crunching of leaves under your boots, sweater weather, thanksgiving and all the food that comes with it, pumpkin patches, and all the fun fall activities!

I’ve put together a list of my favourite things to do during the fall and thought I would share it with all of you!

1. The Fall Foliage

One of the best things about fall is all the pretty colours and seeing the leaves change colours! If you’re up for the drive head up to Algonquin Park to see the trees changing colours, yes it’s kind of far but honestly it’s beautiful! If you’re not down for the drive you can head over to Hamilton and make a day trip out of it. Spend the day exploring Dundas Peak Tew Falls, Webster Falls at Spencer Gorge, Sherman Falls, and the Devil’s Punchbowl. Keep in mind that you’ll have to book tickets in advance to visit Dundas Peak and Spencer Gorge

2. Apple Picking / Pumpkin Patch

Brooks Farms is one of my favourite farms to visit to go apple picking or to take pictures at their huge pumpkin patch, because they have so many things to do. Their Playland offers so many things for kids and everyone of all ages, my favourite thing at the Playland is the giant jumping pillows!

3. Martino Manor Haunted House

Now, I don’t do haunted houses or anything scary, but I have heard great things about Martino Manor Haunted House, and it’s just in Etobicoke! It’s an indoor haunted house and they have an outdoor maze, and it gives you that mom and pop feel, they really pay attention to all the details to ensure those visiting are shaking in their boots. It’s only $20, and keep in mind they only accept cash!

4. The Cranberry Plunge

The town of Bala will be hosting the Bala Cranberry Festival, which will take place the weekend after Thanksgiving (October 15-17), and you’ll be able to enjoy wagon tours, midway rides, enjoy live music, and enjoy all the amazing food! When you’re out there be sure to visit Johnston Cranberry Farm so you you can take the Cranberry Plunge, which takes place until October 24th (during their harvesting season)! Essentially the Cranberry Plunge you’ll be able to wade into a sea of floating cranberries, don’t worry they’ll provide you with chest waders. So make sure you come ready with your camera and maybe a pair of dry socks!

5. Agora: Path of Light

On top of Blue Mountain you’ll find a trail to follow where you’ll be able to explore the Agora: Path of Light, an interactive light installation based on the 5 elements, air, space, earth, water, and fire, as well as the newest feature, Armonia. You begin on a starlit open-air gondola and ride up to the top of the Niagara Escarpment and then end up in a magical forest full of lights and sounds, where you can explore, howl, stomp and speak to nature using the language of light.

What’s on your list of things to do this fall?
